CRL Tremco® POLYshim™ II Tape (SKU: 7242YA3) is a 100% solids, highly adhesive and elastic cross‑linked butyl (polyisobutylene) preformed shim tape. Engineered for compression glazing, this continuous rubber shim prevents sealant squeeze‑out, eliminates pressure points that can cause glass breakage, and removes the need to preshim lites before installing tape—making it ideal for high‑performance curtain wall and window system glazing.

The continuous EPDM shim provides resilient compression handling for building and glass expansion/contraction, with good adhesion, heat resistance, long‑term weathering resistance, and compatibility with many glazing sealants and systems.

Typical Physical Properties
Base polymer: cross‑linked butyl rubber (polyisobutylene); Solids content: 100% by weight. Hardness: 57 durometer Shore "00". Temperature range: Application 20°F (−7°C) to 120°F (49°C); Service −65°F (−54°C) to 200°F (93°C). Weathering: Unaffected by ultraviolet through glass; remains flexible at low temperatures.

Applicable Standards
POLYshim™ II Tape meets the requirements of AAMA 800‑92 Specifications 804.3, 806.3, and 807.3.

Limitations & Product Warning
Not for use in joints subjected to continuous water immersion or temperatures exceeding 200°F (93°C). Do not compression glaze glass with POLYshim™ II Tape having less than a 1/8" (3 mm) shim.
