CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 98814X34BL) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam sealant tape engineered for windows, doors, and storefront glazing. The aggressive acrylic adhesive bonds quickly and holds on curved or irregular surfaces with light pressure. Use as a primary or secondary exterior glazing sealant when glass repositioning is needed before final setting.
Designed as a self-shimming glazing tape, it eliminates the need for separate shims or spacers. Constructed with a patented cellular foam structure, this closed-cell foam tape resists water absorption and provides a long-lived, weather-resistant seal for fenestration systems.
Key features of CRL foam glazing tape with adhesive on two sides:
- Simplicity: no clean-up, easy handling, no mixing or special equipment
- Preformed tape ensures consistent, accurate application—no shim required
- Remains flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
- Non-yellowing, non-staining water-white adhesives for a clean aesthetic
- Seals effectively against water, dust, and light
- Superior resistance to weathering, oxidation, and UV exposure
- Available in a variety of sizes for window and door glazing applications
Maintain a minimum of 30% compression for an effective moisture seal. For small lites, compress directly when installing glazing stops; for most lites, use a compression wedge gasket. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to a clean, dry surface without stretching (paper liner indicates stretch). Cut and butt tape corners—do not overlap—and apply a thin bead of approved sealant at intersections after liner removal. Compatible with other sealing and glazing compounds. In-service temperature range: –40°F to 180°F (–40°C to 82°C).
ENERGY STAR®: CRL is an ENERGY STAR® partner; our fenestration foam glazing tapes carry the ENERGY STAR® seal, supporting superior energy efficiency for windows and doors.
Product Warning:
CRL vinyl foam glazing tape must be compressed (15–30%, see product guidance) to maintain an effective seal. For most installations, a compression wedge gasket is recommended to achieve proper compression.
