CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 98418X38BL) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam glazing tape and exterior glazing sealant designed for primary or secondary seals in window and door systems. The aggressive acrylic adhesive bonds immediately with slight pressure, allowing glass repositioning before final setting. Ideal for fenestration, it adheres to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass and carries ENERGY STAR® recognition for energy-efficient glazing products.

This self-shimming glazing tape eliminates the need for separate shims or spacers. Constructed with a patented cellular foam structure, it resists water absorption and provides a durable, long-lived seal against water, dust, and light. The tape remains flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures for reliable exterior performance.

A minimum of 30% compression is required to maintain an effective moisture seal. For small lites, apply pressure directly to the tape when installing glazing stops; for most applications use a compression wedge gasket. Apply to a clean, dry surface with firm, uniform pressure without stretching (the paper liner will indicate stretching). Cut and butt tape corners—do not overlap—and apply a thin bead of approved sealant at intersections after liner removal. Compatible with most sealing and glazing compounds.
