CRL 777 Black Butyl Sealant - Waterproof Rubber Adhesive

CRL 777 Butyl Rubber (SKU: 777BL) is a solvent-based, butyl-based sealant formulated with age-resistant polymers and a UV-fighting agent for long exterior service life. It provides excellent adhesion to most clean surfaces and maintains watertight performance through joint movement of ±10%. Ideal as a weatherproof exterior butyl rubber sealant for construction and building maintenance.


Basic uses
Recommended for exterior applications, CRL 777 Butyl Rubber Sealant bonds to wood, masonry, glass, concrete, some plastics, and metal. Typical uses include hidden areas (under sill pans, thresholds, around screw heads), between metal building panels, under aluminum siding and gutters, and around wall-mounted air conditioners. Application temperature: 40° to 120°F (4° to 49°C). Service temperature: -20° to 200°F (-29° to 93°C). Paint time: 24 hours.

Product Warning:

Not recommended for sealing horizontal decks, patios, driveways, or terraces exposed to abrasion or heavy traffic. Not intended for window glazing or hidden joints that require a non-skinning, non-hardening sealant. CRL 777 cures by solvent release—minor mineral spirits odor is normal during application; avoid use where odor is objectionable (for example, refrigeration units to be stocked soon after construction).
