CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 982116X34GRY) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam glazing tape with an aggressive acrylic adhesive on one or both sides. Designed for exterior glazing and fenestration applications, this two-sided adhesive foam tape positions easily on curved or irregular surfaces and allows glass repositioning before final setting. It adheres well to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass and is commonly used as a primary or secondary seal in window and door glazing systems.
The tape is self-shimming—no shims or spacers required—and is constructed with a patented cellular foam structure for long-lived seals. Its non-yellowing, non-staining, water-white adhesives preserve a clean aesthetic while sealing effectively against water, dust, and light.
Key features:- Simplicity: no mixing, no special equipment, no cleanup
- Preformed tape for consistent, accurate application
- Remains flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
- Superior long-term resistance to weathering and ultraviolet exposure
- Compatible with other sealing and glazing compounds
- Available in a variety of sizes for window and door glazing
A minimum of 30% compression must be maintained to provide an effective moisture seal; for many lites, a compression wedge gasket is recommended. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to a clean, dry surface without stretching (the paper liner indicates if the tape has been stretched). Tape corners should be cut and butted together rather than overlapped; apply a thin bead of approved sealant at intersections after removing the liner.
Product Warning: CRL vinyl foam glazing tape manufacturer guidance also states the tape must be compressed 15 percent to maintain an effective seal—follow project- and code-specific installation instructions for compression requirements.
