CRL Metal Sash Putty is formulated for glazing metal window sash—steel, aluminum, and galvanized frames. The gray putty applies smoothly without priming and blends with metal finishes, making it ideal as a glazing putty for metal sash and window restoration projects.

Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and frost-free. For re-glazing, remove all old putty and bedding. If the compound is cold, warm by holding and rolling in the hands until soft. Smooth glazing to an angle that sheds water. Typical drying time before painting is four to six weeks, depending on temperature and humidity. Putty must be painted after it has skinned over and reached a firm set; for best results use a high-quality oil-based paint.

Important: Do not thin this putty. Do not add solvents, oils, or color pigments—putty cannot be tinted or colored. Mixing Instructions: Mix the ENTIRE contents of the container prior to use. Empty the entire container onto glass or a plastic surface and work the oils into the putty until uniform. Do not mix small batches (they can be too dry or too oily). Do not mix on cardboard—cardboard will absorb useful oils.
