Overview
Discover the CRL Closed Cell Backer Rod, a versatile and essential component for efficient sealant application.
This flexible polyethylene foam with a non-bonding surface is expertly designed to control sealant depth, ensuring optimal joint design and reducing excessive sealant use.
Compatible with all cold-applied sealants, it prevents adhesion stress, enhances performance, and is available in sizes from 1/4" to 2" (7 to 50mm).
Ideal for a range of applications, including expansion joints and building rehabilitation, the backer rod supports the preferred "hourglass" sealant shape while resisting water absorption.
For best results, select a size 25-50% wider than the joint and follow proper installation and storage guidelines.
Avoid using with hot-applied sealants over 160°F (71°C).
