You can fabricate aluminum jambs for sliding glass door assemblies using CRL Dor-Tite sponge rubber stripping (SKU D9425). This black, open-cell sponge rubber fits common aluminum extrusions and is ideal for cushioning, dustproofing, and rattle-proofing sliding glass panel edges. Density: 26 lbs./cu. ft.; deflection/compression: 5–10 psi (medium).
Dor-Tite sponge rubber stripping is self-adhesive—just remove the liner and apply. The exposed surface is textured and non-stretchable for a durable, weatherproof seal with minimal cleanup.
