When demanding closer specifications are required, consider our PR40 Series Surface Mounted Door Closers. Engineered for high-traffic areas—public buildings, airports, and shopping centers—these Grade 1 surface mounted door closers feature independently adjustable closing and latching speed controls plus an adjustable backcheck to prevent damage from violent swings due to wind or heavy pedestrian traffic.

The optional delayed action feature extends the time a door remains open to ease passage, making this delayed-action door closer ideal for health care facilities, nursing homes, and other public buildings that require ADA-compliant door timing.

PR40 Series closers have a compact body and share a common 9-1/16" x 3/4" (230 x 19 mm) mounting hole template for easy new installations or retrofits. All PR40 closers are UL Listed and backed by a 10-year warranty. Each unit includes parallel arm brackets and mounting hardware for regular, top-jamb, or parallel-arm applications. Optional accessories such as drop plates and hold-open arms are available for special installations.
