Overview
The CRL Tremco® 440 Butyl Architectural Tape is a pre-formed butyl sealant available in aluminum and black colors, renowned for its superior weather resistance and 100% solids content.
This high-performance tape forms a watertight seal to prevent water infiltration and remains permanently elastic even at low temperatures, making it ideal for non-compression glazing of vision lites and spandrel panels in metal and wood frames.
With a temperature range from 20°F to 120°F for application, and serviceability from -40°F to 158°F, it's highly adaptable to various glazing systems and suitable for lap sealing between different materials.
Note that it is not recommended for joints subjected to continuous water immersion or high temperatures exceeding 158°F, nor for glass lites over 75 inches, where a higher performance system like the CRL Tremco® Pre-Shimmed Butyl Tape might be more suitable.
