CRL Butyl Architectural Glazing Tape (SKU: GT106) is an extruded, preformed tape on release-paper rolls. Formulated from butyl rubber (polyisobutylene) for proven age and weather resistance, it creates a long-lasting, flexible weather seal between surfaces subject to normal expansion/contraction and wind loading. Ideal as an exterior primary spacing and glazing seal when installing glass into window sashes, it also seals metal-to-metal, wood-to-glass, metal-to-plastic and other architectural joints. Tape thickness is intended to be compressed approximately 10% at installation to accommodate surface alignment.

Good Glazing Practices
Surfaces should be free of frost or standing water, brushed clean, solvent-washed (MEK, toluene or naphtha) and wiped dry. At installation, ensure positive contact and approximately 10% compression to fully marry surfaces. Glazing tapes kept under compression with clips or wedges provide the best long-term seals. Always use setting blocks (80 Durometer Shore A) at sill quarter points. Use spacing shims for glass lites over 100" (50 Durometer Shore A). Do not place tape below the sight line unless a cap bead is specified; if so, place tape 3/
