CRL Butyl Architectural Glazing Tape (SKU: GT207) is an extruded, preformed tape on release-paper rolls formulated from durable polyisobutylene butyl rubber. Designed for long-lasting, flexible weather seals, it resists normal expansion/contraction and wind loading when glazing glass into window sashes or sealing metal-to-metal, wood-to-glass, and metal-to-plastic joints. Tape thickness is sized to be compressed approximately 10% at installation to accommodate surface alignment and ensure a consistent exterior glazing seal for windows and storefronts.

Good Glazing Practices
Surfaces must be free of frost and standing water, brushed clean, solvent-washed (MEK, toluene, or naphtha) and wiped dry before applying glazing tape. Apply with positive contact and approximately 10% compression to fully marry surfaces. Keep tapes compressed with clips or wedges for best long-term seals. Use 80 Durometer Shore A setting blocks at sill quarter points and 50 Durometer Shore A spacing shims for glass lites over 100". Place sill tape at or above the sight line unless a cap bead is specified; if a cap bead is used place tape 3/16" (4.8 mm) below the sight line. Do not overlap—always butt ends without stretching. Keep the release paper in place until ready to set the glass.
Product Warning / Limitations:
For applications above two floors, use a spacer, shim, or a structural cap bead (such as silicone) to prevent
