CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 74418X14GRY) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam glazing tape with adhesive on one side. The aggressive acrylic adhesive positions the foam on curved or irregular surfaces with minimal pressure, making it ideal as an exterior glazing sealant for windows, doors, louvers, demountable partitions, and other operable or temporary joints.

Designed as a primary or secondary seal in glazing systems, this self-shimming foam gasket eliminates the need for shims or spacers. Its patented cellular foam resists weathering and water absorption to provide a long-lived seal. The non-adhesive face releases cleanly from most surfaces and the tape recovers most of its original thickness after joint opening, enabling repositioning without sticky residue.

A minimum of 30% compression is required to maintain an effective moisture seal. For small lites, compression can be achieved by applying pressure when installing glazing stops; for most installations, a compression wedge gasket is recommended. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to clean, dry surfaces without stretching (paper liner indicates stretch). Cut tape corners and butt together—do not overlap—and apply a thin bead of approved sealant at intersections after liner removal. Compatible with most sealing and glazing compounds. CRL vinyl foam glazing tape must be compressed 15–30% (minimum 30% recommended) to maintain an effective seal. Use a compression wedge gasket for most lites.
