Overview
- Designed for high-volume glass fabrication and production drilling (SKU: PD234)
- Full 3/8" (10 mm) diamond matrix cutting depth for extended life
- Two mounting styles: straight shank (extra-long 1-3/8" × 3/8" shank) or Belgian/1/2" gas thread for machine compatibility
CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills use a multi-layer Italian-made diamond and brass/bronze bond engineered for maximum performance in glass. These metal bond diamond drill bits for glass deliver the longest life of any diamond drill—typically 1,000 to 2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper wet sharpening maintenance to expose fresh diamonds. They cut faster, run cooler, and provide consistent results in production equipment. The 3/8" deep diamond surface maximizes cutting life but requires use on flat glass in true-running drilling machines. The PD Series features an extra-long straight shank for a secure grip; the PDT Series features Belgian-style mounting threads popular on U.S. and European glass drilling machines and portable units such as the CRL AMZ1.
Safety: Always wear eye protection and gloves when drilling glass. Perform work on a flat, horizontal surface and use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt device (Cat. No. GF1) when using electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow precautions can result in operator injury.
