CRL 36" White Shatterproof Mirror Safety Tape - Category II

CRL Category II Safety Backing Tape (SKU: 2MT36) is a pressure-sensitive adhesive film designed as a mirror safety backing tape to keep glass fragments together in the event of breakage. Ideal for mirrored wardrobe doors and other applications requiring Category II mirror safety backing, the tape features an embedded woven scrim for high tensile and impact strength and to prevent moisture entrapment or scrim delamination. The high-performance adhesive provides easy roll unwind and strong bond to a wide variety of mirror backings. Complies with ANSIZ97.1-2009 and 16CFR1201 for impact resistance. Rolls are 600' (183 m) and come individually boxed for UPS shipment, except 60" (1.52 m) widths which require common carrier shipping. Widths can be combined for quantity pricing.


NOTE: The only tested and approved mastic to use with CRL Category II Safety Tape is CRL Gunther Premier Plus Mirror Mastic.

When using these mastics—Regular Palmer Mirro-Mastic® (Cat. No.'s PM201GL, PM205, PM601T, PM601QT), CRL Heavy Bodied Mirror Mastic (Cat. No. 600GL), or Palmer SuperSet (Cat. No. PM290)—the Category II Safety Tape must be cleaned/washed once applied with 70% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol).

Palmer Qwikset Mirro-Mastic®, Gunther Extra/Build, and Gunther Ultra/Bond must NOT be used with any safety tape unless holes are cut out prior to mastic application.
