CRL Category II Safety Backing Tape for mirrors is a pressure-sensitive, adhesive-coated film tape designed to keep glass fragments together if a mirror is accidentally broken. Recommended primarily for mirrored wardrobe doors and other interior mirror applications requiring a Category II mirror safety backing, this tape features a woven scrim embedded in the film for high tensile and impact strength and to prevent moisture entrapment and scrim delamination. The high-performance adhesive enables easy roll unwind while promoting a strong bond to a wide variety of mirror backings. Complies with ANSI Z97.1-2009 and 16CFR1201 impact resistance standards. Available in 600' (183 m) rolls, individually boxed for UPS shipment (60" / 1.52 m width ships via common carrier). Widths can be combined for quantity pricing. SKU: 2MT48


NOTE: The only tested and approved mastic to use with the CRL Category II Safety Tape is CRL Gunther Premier Plus Mirror Mastic.

When using the following mastics, the Category II Safety Tape must be cleaned/washed once applied with 70% isopropyl alcohol: Palmer Mirro-Mastic® (PM201GL, PM205, PM601T, PM601QT), CRL Heavy Bodied Mirror Mastic (600GL), and Palmer SuperSet (PM290).

*Palmer Qwikset Mirro-Mastic®, Gunther Extra/Build, or Gunther Ultra/Bond are NOT to be used with any safety tape unless holes are cut out prior to applying mastics.
