CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 74814X12GRY) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam glazing tape with adhesive on one side. The aggressive acrylic adhesive positions the foam with minimal pressure, making it ideal for exterior glazing applications where glass repositioning is needed before final setting. Adheres to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass and is suitable as a primary or secondary seal in many glazing systems.
Constructed from a patented cellular-structured foam, this foam glazing tape is self-shimming (no shims or spacers required), resists water absorption, and delivers a long-lived seal. Joints sealed with this tape can be opened, repositioned, and reused without the mess of conventional sealants—the non-adhesive face releases cleanly from most surfaces and the tape recovers most of its original thickness when released.
Key features of CRL Foam Glazing Tape with adhesive on one side:
- Simplicity: no clean-up, easy handling, no mixing or special equipment required
- Preformed tape for consistent, accurate application—no shim required
- Remains flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
- Non-yellowing, non-staining water-white adhesive for a clean, aesthetic appearance
- Superior resistance to weathering, oxidation, and ultraviolet exposure
- Seals effectively against water, dust, and light
- Available in a variety of sizes for glazing, demountable partitions, louvers, access panels, and operable joints
Installation notes: Maintain a minimum of 30% compression for an effective moisture seal; for small lites this can be achieved by applying pressure directly when installing glazing stops. In most lites a compression wedge gasket is recommended. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to a clean, dry surface without stretching (the paper liner indicates stretching). Cut and butt tape corners rather than overlapping, and apply a thin bead of approved sealant at intersections after liner removal. Compatible with other sealing and glazing compounds.
