CRL Foam Glazing Tape is a closed-cell polyethylene foam glazing tape with adhesive on one side. The aggressive acrylic adhesive bonds to curved and irregular surfaces with minimal pressure and adheres to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass. Use as an exterior glazing sealant when glass repositioning is required before final setting.
Designed for primary or secondary seals in a variety of glazing systems, CRL Foam Glazing Tape is self-shimming—no separate shims or spacers needed. The patented cellular foam construction resists weathering and water absorption while providing a durable, long-lived seal. Joints sealed with this one-sided adhesive tape can be opened, repositioned, and re-used without the sticky mess of liquid sealants; the non-adhesive face typically releases cleanly from most surfaces and the tape recovers most of its original thickness after compression.
Key features of CRL Foam Glazing Tape with Adhesive on One Side:
- Simplicity: no clean-up, easy handling, no mixing or special application equipment
- Preformed tape delivers consistent, accurate application; no shim required
- Remains flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
- Non-yellowing, non-staining water-white adhesive for a clean appearance
- Superior resistance to weathering, oxidation, and ultraviolet exposure
- Seals effectively against water, dust, and light
- Available in a variety of sizes
A minimum of 30% compression must be maintained to provide an effective moisture seal. In small lites this may be achieved by applying pressure directly to the glazing tape when installing glazing stops; in most lites a compression wedge gasket is recommended. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to a clean, dry surface without stretching (the paper liner will indicate if the tape has been stretched). Cut and butt tape corners rather than overlapping; apply a thin
