CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 74814X112BL) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam glazing tape with adhesive on one side. The aggressive acrylic adhesive positions the foam with the slightest pressure and bonds to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass. Designed for exterior glazing and repositioning of glass prior to final setting, this tape is ideal as a primary or secondary seal in windows, doors, demountable partitions, louvers, access panels, and other operable or temporary joints.

Constructed from a patented cellular-structured foam, CRL Foam Glazing Tape is self-shimming—eliminating the need for separate shims or spacers—and resists water absorption for a long-lived seal. Joints sealed with this tape can be opened and closed or repositioned without the sticky mess of conventional sealants; the non-adhesive face typically releases cleanly from most surfaces and the foam recovers most of its original thickness when uncompressed.

Key features of CRL foam glazing tape with adhesive on one side:

  • Simplicity: no mixing, no special equipment, minimal waste, and no clean-up
  • Preformed tape for consistent, accurate application—no shim required
  • Remains flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
  • Special non-yellowing, non-staining water-white adhesives for a clean appearance
  • Exceptional resistance to weathering, oxidation, and ultraviolet exposure
  • Effective sealing against water, dust, and light
  • Available in a variety of sizes

A minimum compression is required to achieve an effective moisture seal. The product literature includes two referenced compression values: one section indicates a minimum of 30% compression, while the product warning states compression of 15% is necessary. Refer to the product label or technical datasheet for the authoritative compression requirement for your application. In small lites, compression can be achieved
