Our innovative glass entrance product, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System, uses the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). The patented wedge-action secures monolithic tempered glass by applying downward pressure via two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the bar is tightened with socket head cap bolts, angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the rail and pull together, clamping the glass with extremely high holding force (more than 900 lbs. in the 9" (228.6 mm) corner rail).
NOTE: Actual Product Height: 4-1/16" (103 mm)
The Wedge-Lock® system delivers faster installation than typical door rails—experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in under ten minutes. Rails ship fully fabricated with end caps installed and include an adjustable door alignment slide so the door can be shifted 1/8" (3.2 mm) toward or away from the jamb without removal. This adjustable alignment is standard on both top and bottom rails and allows pivots with slotted grooves to be positioned off the American Standard setback (2-3/4" / 69.8 mm) to accommodate out-of-square openings.
To adjust after installation, remove the end cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the slide; the two outer bolts adjust the slide 1/8" (3.2 mm) in or out. Components are designed for durability—internal parts do not need removal for installation, the single-component housing resists shifting over time, and glass securing pads are made for longevity in extreme environments.
NOTE: All Wedge-Lock® Door Rails include the built-in jamb alignment block. Arms, pivots, closer arms, and keyed cylinders/thumbturns are sold separately to meet job requirements.
