The CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System features the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent No. EP 1 404 939 B1). This frameless glass door rail secures glass by applying pressure from the bottom of the rail using two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the bar is tightened with socket head cap bolts, angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the rail, drawing the extrusions together and compressing the specially designed door retaining gasket to produce very high holding force (more than 900 lbs. in the 9" (228.6 mm) corner rail). This patented wedge action delivers exceptional glass retention and long-term reliability for commercial tempered glass doors.

The Wedge-Lock® system also provides faster installation than typical door rails—experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in less than ten minutes. Rails ship fully fabricated and ready-to-install with end caps installed. After mounting the rail, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail. The adjustable door alignment system allows ±1/8" (3 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door; this feature is standard on both top and bottom rails.

To fine-tune after installation, remove the end cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the adjustable slide; the outer bolts provide ±1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment. The low-profile slide and slotted pivot grooves enable placement other than the American Standard setback of 2-3/4" (69.8 mm), and rails can be fabricated for vertically out-of-square openings.
