CRL Foam Glazing Tape is a closed-cell polyethylene foam glazing tape with an aggressive acrylic adhesive formulated to set with minimal pressure. Designed for exterior glazing and fenestration applications, this self-shimming tape adheres to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass and allows glass repositioning before final setting.
Constructed with a patented cellular foam structure, CRL Foam Glazing Tape resists water absorption and long-term weathering, delivering a durable, long-lived seal. The non-adhesive face releases cleanly from most surfaces, and the tape recovers most of its original thickness after joint opening—ideal for demountable partitions, louvers, access panels, doors, and other operable or temporary joints.
Key features of CRL Foam Glazing Tape with adhesive on one side:
- Simplicity: no mixing, no special tools, no clean-up
- Preformed tape for consistent application; no shim required
- Flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
- Non-yellowing, non-staining water‑white adhesive for a clean appearance
- Seals effectively against water, dust, and light
- Variety of available sizes
Installation notes: a minimum of 30% compression must be maintained to provide an effective moisture seal. In small lites, compression may be achieved by applying pressure directly to the tape when installing glazing stops; in most lites a compression wedge gasket is recommended. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to a clean, dry surface without stretching—the paper liner indicates if the tape has been stretched. Tape corners should be cut and butted together (do not overlap); apply a thin bead of approved sealant at intersections after liner removal. CRL Foam Glazing Tape is compatible with most sealing and glazing compounds. In-service temperature range is –40°F to 180°F (–40°C to 82°C).
