Our innovative glass entrance hardware, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System, uses the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1) to secure tempered glass in commercial and architectural doors. The system applies downward pressure through two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the stainless steel bar is tightened with socket head cap bolts, angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the door rail and wedge together, forming a high-force, durable glass attachment used in storefronts, frameless glass doors, and heavy-duty entrance systems.
NOTE: Actual product height: 4-1/16" (103 mm)
The Wedge-Lock® Glass Securing System delivers a secure connection plus the fastest installation time among door rails for tempered glass. Experienced installers can prepare a door in under ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails ship fully fabricated and ready-to-install with end caps installed. After mounting the rail, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail.
The built-in Adjustable Door Alignment System allows up to 1/8" (3.2 mm) of in/out adjustment without removing the door—standard on both top and bottom rails. To Adjust: remove the end cap to access three socket head cap bolts; the center bolt secures the slide, and the two outer bolts provide the 1/8" adjustment. The low-profile slide lets pivots with slotted grooves be positioned off the American Standard setback for vertically out-of-square openings.
Key benefits and differentiators:
- Designed for monolithic tempered glass door installations and frameless glass storefront doors
- Rigid single-component housing that resists shifting or loss of adjustment over time
- Internal components remain assembled for faster install—no disassembly required before mounting
- Durable glass securing pads engineered for longevity in extreme environments
- Available with factory-installed lock mechanisms; keyed cylinders or thumbturns ordered separately
- Built-in jamb alignment block; arms and pivots must be ordered to match job requirements
