Our innovative glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System (SKU: DR4SBS12P), uses the exclusive Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1) to secure tempered glass in commercial and architectural doors. The system applies downward pressure using two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar tightened with socket head cap bolts. Angled extrusions seat into an angled groove in the door rail so the wedge action pulls the glass-retaining pieces together, creating high clamping force (over 900 lbs. in the 9" corner rail) for durable, reliable glass retention.
NOTE: Actual product height: 4-1/16" (103 mm).
The Wedge-Lock® system delivers faster installations than conventional rails—experienced installers can prepare a door in under ten minutes. Rails ship fully fabricated and ready-to-install with end caps installed. After rail installation, simply attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the pre-assembled adjustable door alignment slide. The adjustable slide allows ±1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb on both top and bottom rails without removing the door.
To fine-tune alignment after installation, remove the end cap to expose three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the slide, and the two outer bolts adjust the slide ±1/8" (3.2 mm). The low-profile slide allows pivot placement other than the American Standard setback (2-3/4" / 69.8 mm), enabling fabrication for vertically out-of-square openings.
Key benefits and differentiators:
- Accepts 3/8"–3/4" (10–19 mm) glass—ideal for commercial tempered glass doors
- Rigid single-component housing resists shifting and stays in adjustment
- Internal components remain installed during fitting—no pre-removal needed
- Durable glass securing pads designed for longevity in extreme environments
- Built-in jamb alignment block standard; arms and pivots ordered separately to meet job requirements
