Our innovative glass entrance solution, the
CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System, features the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). Designed for commercial and architectural glass doors, the Wedge-Lock® system secures tempered glass by applying downward pressure through two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. Tightening socket head cap bolts pulls the wedge-style extrusions together inside the angled rail groove, producing exceptional clamping force (more than 900 lbs. in the 9" / 228.6 mm corner rail) for a secure, durable attachment across full-length rails. This patented method creates a robust, single-component housing that resists shifting and maintains adjustment over time—ideal for high-traffic glass door installations and storefront applications.
NOTE: Actual Product Height: 4-1/16" (103 mm).
The Wedge-Lock® Glass Securing System also delivers fast installation for glazing contractors: experienced installers can prepare a door in under ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails ship fully fabricated and ready-to-install with End Caps installed. After rail installation, simply attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail. The standard Adjustable Door Alignment System allows up to 1/8" (3.2 mm) of in/out adjustment on both top and bottom rails without removing the door—useful for out-of-square openings and field adjustments.
To adjust after installation, remove the End Cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the adjustable slide, and the two outer bolts provide the ±1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment. The low-profile slide accommodates pivots with slotted grooves and can be positioned other than the American Standard setback of 2-3/4" (69.8 mm).
