Our innovative glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System, uses the exclusive Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 & 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). This patented wedge action clamps two aluminum glass-retaining extrusions together via a stainless steel bar and angled grooves in the door rail, producing exceptional clamping force (over 900 lbs. in our 9" corner rail) for a secure glass-to-rail connection in full-length 35-3/4" (908 mm) door rails.
NOTE: Actual product height: 4-1/16" (103 mm)
The Wedge-Lock® System delivers fast, reliable installation for tempered glass storefront and commercial doors. Rails ship completely fabricated and ready-to-install with end caps installed. After mounting the rail, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the preassembled adjustable door alignment slide. The adjustable alignment slide (standard on top and bottom rails) allows ±1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door—ideal for out-of-square openings.
To fine-tune alignment after installation, remove the end cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the slide, the outer bolts adjust the slide in or out by 1/8" (3.2 mm). The low-profile slide accommodates pivots with slotted grooves and non-standard setback positions.
Key benefits and differentiators:
- Patented Wedge-Lock® offers exceptionally high clamping force and long-term stability
- Fast installation—experienced installers can prepare a door in under 10 minutes
- Rigid single-component housing resists shifting or loss of adjustment over time
- Internal components remain in place during installation—no pre-removal required
- Durable glass securing pads designed for longevity in extreme environments
- Standard Kwik-Adjust™ Pivot Alignment System included; arms, pivots, keyed cylinders, thumbturns, and closer arms sold separately
