Designed for high-traffic commercial settings—public buildings, airports, shopping centers—these Grade 1 door closers offer independent adjustable closing and latching speed controls plus an adjustable backcheck to prevent damage from wind or heavy pedestrian traffic.

The optional delayed action feature adjusts how long the door remains open to aid passage and compliance with A.D.A. requirements—ideal for healthcare facilities, nursing homes, and other public buildings that need an ADA-compliant delayed action door closer.

PR40 Series closers feature a compact body and share a common 9-1/16" x 3/4" (230 x 19 mm) mounting hole template for easy new construction or retrofit installations. Each unit is UL Listed and includes Parallel Arm Brackets and mounting hardware for regular, top jamb, or parallel arm applications. Optional accessories—Drop Plates and Hold Open Arms—are available for special installations. DC5CVR covers are compatible with the PR42DU; they adhere to the closer with double-sided tape and are not a direct replacement cover.
