An innovative glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System uses the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). The system secures tempered glass in the door rail by applying downward pressure with two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the bar is tensioned with socket head cap bolts, the angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the rail, creating an extreme retention force (over 900 lbs. in the 9" corner rail). This wedge action and the specially designed door retaining gasket deliver high-strength, full-length glass retention for commercial glass doors.

The Wedge-Lock® system also offers the fastest installation time among door rail systems—experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in under ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® rails ship fully fabricated and ready-to-install with end caps installed. After mounting, simply attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail.

The standard Adjustable Door Alignment System provides ±1/8" (±3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door, available on both top and bottom rails. To access adjustments after installation, remove the end cap to reveal three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt locks the slide, and the outer bolts permit the 1/8" in/out adjustment. The low-profile slide allows pivot placement other than the American Standard setback (2-3/4" / 69.8 mm), enabling fabrication for vertically out-of-square openings.

Other benefits: models accept 3/8" or 1/2" (10 or 12 mm) glass; a rigid single-component housing that resists shifting over time (not two-piece); internal components remain in place during installation; and glass-securing pads are built for longevity in extreme environments.
