Our innovative glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System, uses the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). This patented glass door rail system secures glass by applying pressure from the bottom of the rail via two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the bar is tightened with socket head cap bolts, the angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the door rail, pulling the extrusions together and compressing the specially designed door retaining gasket. That design produces extremely high retention force (over 900 lbs. in the 9" corner rail) for reliable, long-lasting glass retention.
NOTE: Actual Product Height: 4-1/16" (103 mm)
The Wedge-Lock® Glass Securing System delivers faster installations than conventional door rails—experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in under ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails ship fully fabricated and ready-to-install with End Caps installed. After rail installation, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail.
The built-in Adjustable Door Alignment System provides ±1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door—standard on both top and bottom rails. To adjust after installation, remove the End Cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the slide; the two outer bolts adjust the slide in or out. The low-profile slide accommodates pivots with slotted grooves and can be fabricated for vertically out-of-square openings.
Why choose Wedge-Lock® Door Rails:
- Accepts 3/8" to 3/4" (10–19 mm) glass
- Rigid single-component housing that resists shifting and loss of adjustment over time
- Internal components do not require removal before installation
- Durable glass-securing pads engineered for longevity in extreme environments
- Built-in Jamb Alignment Block (arms and pivots ordered separately)
CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails are available in several standard architectural finishes and can be quoted in custom finishes and widths. Rail specifications, templates and hardware packages are available from CRL Technical Sales via
