Our innovative glass entrance system, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System (SKU: DR4TDU34S) features the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2, Canadian Patent 2,419,706, and European Patent No. EP 1 404 939 B1). The Wedge-Lock® design secures monolithic tempered glass by applying downward pressure with two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar tightened with socket head cap bolts. As the bar is pulled down, angled extrusions lock into the door rail groove and wedge together, producing very high clamping force (over 900 lbs. in the 9" corner rail) — delivering robust secure attachment and stability across the full 35-3/4" (908 mm) rails. This patented method creates a durable, rigid single-component housing that resists shifting or loss of adjustment over time—ideal for commercial tempered glass door applications and other high-traffic entrances.

The Wedge-Lock® Glass Securing System also delivers the fastest installation time among door rails. Experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in under ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails ship completely fabricated and ready-to-install with End Caps installed. After rail installation, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail. The Adjustable Door Alignment System allows up to 1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door — standard on both top and bottom rails — making final alignment quick and precise for out-of-square openings.

To adjust after installation, remove the End Cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the adjustable slide; the two outer bolts adjust the slide 1/8" (3.2 mm) in or out. The low-profile slide works with pivots that have slotted grooves, enabling positions other than the American Standard Setback of 2-3/4" (69.8 mm). Internal components do not require removal before installation, and the glass securing pads are designed for longevity in extreme environments.
