These CRL Floating Headers for Overhead Concealed Door Closers (SKU: FH4BLS) mount single or double doors off glass sidelites with a 1/2" (12 mm) glass transom above. Stock floating headers are designed for 1/2" (12 mm) glass-to-glass installations and are prepped to accept CRL overhead concealed door closers.
Custom floating headers support additional configurations — various glass thicknesses, custom lengths, glass-to-wall installations, and headers prepped for surface-mounted magnetic locks, magnetic shear locks, surface-mounted top pivots, walking beam pivots, or overhead concealed door closers.
Note: If the transom above the header exceeds 100 lbs. (45.4 kg), ceiling support is required to prevent header bowing. Use Cat. No. B5BC Smoke Baffle Channel or PH94 Patch Fittings, or contact Technical Sales for assistance.
Application tip: Use this floating header when floor closers are not an option due to delicate finishes or minimal floor thickness — a preferred solution for frameless glass door systems requiring overhead concealed closers.
