CRL Floating Header for Overhead Concealed Door Closers (SKU: FH4DUS) — engineered to mount single or double doors off glass sidelites with a transom above. Stock floating headers are configured for 1/2" (12 mm) glass-to-glass installations and are prepped to accept CRL overhead concealed door closers and a 1/2" (12 mm) thick glass transom. These floating headers provide a no-floor-cut solution for frameless glass doors and commercial glass installations.

Custom Floating Headers cover additional configurations, including other glass thicknesses, custom lengths, glass-to-wall layouts, and headers prepped for surface-mounted magnetic locks, magnetic shear locks, surface-mounted top pivots, walking beam pivots, or overhead concealed door closers.

Important load note: If the transom above the header exceeds 100 lbs (45.4 kg), the transom must be supported from the ceiling to prevent bowing. Recommended supports include Cat. No. B5BC Smoke Baffle Channel or PH94 Patch Fittings. Contact Technical Sales for assistance.

Application tip: Use the CRL floating header for overhead concealed door closers on projects with delicate floor finishes or limited floor thickness where floor closers are impractical.
